The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, March 29, 1951 Vol. 19 No. 5 MRS. EVIE ANNA BRUCE Mrs. Evie Anna Bruce, widow of the late James Bruce, died at her home in Alamo Monday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bruce was a native of Mississippi but had been a resident of this county for a greater part of her life. She was 77 years of age, a member of the Baptist Church and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Alamo by Rev. W. Floyd Cates, pastor, assisted by E. R. Boone, minister of the Church of Christ. Burial was in Providence Cemetery with Ronk Funeral Home in charge. She is survived by one son, S. L. Bruce of the U. S. Navy; one brother, John McNatt of Maury City and one sister, Mrs. Will Nichols of near Alamo. |
