The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, November 20, 1947 E. R. Brown Services for E. R. Brown, 78, retired groceryman of Alamo, who died Saturday in a Jackson hospital were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at Pond Creek Church, with R. E. Black, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Mr. Brown died of injuries received when a buggy in which he was riding was hit by a car driven by Alfred Simmons. The accident occurred on Bells Street near the railroad crossing. He is survived by three sons, Ed, Charley and Lofton Brown, all of this county and was reared here where he was well known, having operated a grocery store near the crossing for several years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Ronk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Edward R. Brown married Bell Moore, 26 Feb 1889 in Crockett Co. According to funeral home records, Edward was the son of Joe & Lulicia Brown. |
