The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, May 15, 1947 A. W. Brooks Mr. W. A. Brooks, a lifelong resident of the county, died Thursday at the home of his son, Will Brooks, near Bells. He was born in Gadsden and was 85 years of age. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Methodist Church and a highly respected citizen. He is survived by two sons, Will and Tom Brooks of Bells; two daughters, Mrs. Bert Price and Mrs. Essie Smith, both of Jackson. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. P. Irion, pastor of Bells and Alamo Methodist Churches and burial was in Bellview cemetery. Goosmann Funeral Home in charge. [Note: The heading says A. W. Brooks and the obit says W. A. Brooks.
