Robert Boals Obituary

Mr. Robert Boals, Tennessee
b: Sept. 21, 1873, d: March 23, 1943

On March 23, 1943, Mr. Boals passed from this life at his home near Salem church, Obion presbytery. He professed faith in Christ and joined the Salem church. Later he was ordained an elder and served faithfully through-out his active life. The service which he rendered, both spiritually and financially, will be remembered for years to come.

He was also the outstanding farmer of his community, always ready to share and help those who came to him in need. His home was always open to the ministers who passed that way, and after a visit in this home one went away feeling that it was good to spend a few hours in a home like that. One always looked forward to making a return visit.

Mr. Boals leaves his wife, Margaret (Maggie) Black Boals; three daughters, Carrie Boals of Chilocco, Okla., Essie Boals of Somerville, Tn., Beulah (Boals) Palmore of Halls, Tn.; five sons, Ernest Boals and Shelton Boals of Gadsden, Tn., Garner Boals of Arkansas, Hiram Boals of Jackson, Tn., and Pvt. Marshall Boals of Ft. Riley, Kansas.

Services were held at Salem Presbyterian Church with Revs. A. D. Salisbury, D. R. Dunagan, and Carl F. Davis officiating. Burial in the church cemetery followed.
