CROCKETT COUNTY SENTINEL BELLS, TENNESSEE THURSDAY FEBRUARY 23, 1950 DEATH... Henry Bryant BENNETT, 76, died Monday at Doctors Hospital, Jackson, and services were held Tuesday at West Jackson Baptist Church. He was born near Crockett Mills but when a small boy moved to Jackson with his family where he began a railroad career in 1897 being employed by the I. C. Railroad and served 32 years as conductor. In 1921 he was licensed as a Baptist minister and was active in the work of his denomination. He was a brother of the late G. L. BENNETT and Mrs. Alice CATES of Alamo. Four brothers, John A. BENNETT, C. R. BENNETT, and W. A. BENNETT of Jackson and W. P. BENNETT of Memphis; and three sisters, Mrs. W. R. COOKE and Mrs. Emmett TAYLOR of Jackson and Mrs. Ed VADEN of Bells survive. CROCKETT COUNTY SENTINEL BELLS ITEMS... Mr. & Mrs. R. E. VADEN attended the funeral of her brother, Mr. Henry BENNETT which was held Tuesday at the West Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson. He was a former Crockett Countian and was a conductor for the I. C. Railroad for 32 years. |
