The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, March 7, 1946 Mrs. Minnie C. Ball Mrs. Minnie C. Ball, wife of S. Garland Ball, of Humboldt, died Feb. 27th after a short illness. She was born and reared in Crockett County, the daughter of the late Ben F. Cook and Anna Jones Cook of near Maury City. She moved to Gibson County after her marriage and lived near Brazil until she came to Humboldt a few months ago. She was a Methodist. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Nick Scruggs of Humboldt; three sons, Ernest Ball of Memphis, University of Tennessee student; D. Cecil Ball of Alma, Okla. (only two sons listed); a sister, Mrs. Willie Shivers; and a brother, Esse B. Cook, both of Trenton; five grandchildren, Mrs. Guy O. Tufts, Brooklyn, N.Y., Peggy Jo Ball, Savannah, Ga.; Nickie Ann and John Alvin Scruggs of Humboldt, and Alvin Leroy Ball, Jr., of Alma, Okla., and a great granddaughter, Gary Ann Tufts of Brooklyn. Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 at the First Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. A. L. Dickerson, pastor, officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery with Hunt Funeral Home in charge. |
