The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, February 27, 1947 J. D. Alison, Jr. Services for J. D. Alison, Jr., veteran of World War I were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Friendship Church of Christ with Ross Spears, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial in Sudbury Cemetery. Mr. Alison, who was 55, died Sunday in Veterans' Hospital at Augusta, Ga. He had been ill 16 years. He was born in Haywood County. He was wounded in World War I overseas. After the war he moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. He was a public accountant. He leaves his wife, the former Gladys Sudbury; a son, Lt. J. C. Alison of the Marines at Teintsin, China; his mother, Mrs. J. P. Alison, Sr. of Brownsville; and six sisters, Mr. T. B. Smooth, Mrs. H. B. Patton and Mrs. Bright Tipton of Brownsville; Mrs. I. R. King of Lexington, Miss., Mrs. D. H. Daugherty of Little Rock and Miss Alma Alison of New York City. |
