THE LAUDERDALE COUNTY ENTERPRISE FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 1968 FIRE CLAIMED--two children as four others escaped the flames about 2 a. m. Sunday, when the frame home of Mr. & Mrs. Carl AGEE burned on Route 3, Friendship, seven miles east of Halls. Terry Lynn AGEE, 10, son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles AGEE, of Halls and Edith Fay AGEE, 4, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Billy Lynn AGEE, of Maury City, formerly of Halls, perished in the flames. The cousins, along with Billy Lynn and his son, were visiting their grandparents when the fire broke out. Mr. & Mrs. Carl AGEE were taken to Jackson-Madison Hospital, where they were treated for smoke inhalation. Mrs. AGEE was released Monday, but Mr. AGEE, who suffers a heart condition remains seriously ill. Joint services were Monday in Old Field Methodist Church near Maury City, burial in church cemetery. |
