F. H. Hall

F. P. Hall, a resident of the Seventh Civil District of Crockett County, was born in Rutherford County, Tenn., in 1819, son of David Hall, who was born in Virginia, February 17, 1794, and died in 1867. He came to Tennessee in 1804. He was married to Elizabeth Webb, who was also born in Virginia, November 6, 1799, and died about 1858. Our subject is of Welsh and Irish descent, and assisted his father on a farm until he was about twenty years of age. He then went to southwest Missouri, where he resided a short time. He farmed very successfully until a few years ago, when his son William became superintendent of his farm. He was married, January 19, 1843, to Elizabeth Ann Yauree, and their union resulted in the birth of ten children, four of whom are living: James F., William P., Joe F., and Martha Ann (Mrs. A. G. McLean). In 1866 Mr. Hall was elected magistrate of his district and served one term, and was re-elected in 1882, and has served to the present. He is a member of the Christian Church, and a stanch Republican in politics.
