PARROTT/PARRETT
- Thomas Parrott was born in 1798 in
Parrottsville.
He moved to Mendon, Mercer County Ohio with his wife Elizabeth Coil,
and
his father-in-law. He and Elizabeth had nine kids. One of them was
Joseph
J. Parrott. He is my great-grandfather. Joseph Married Harriet Waters
in
1867 and had my grandfather, Burt Rolland Parrott. Thomas Parrott's
parents
were John Parrott (or Parrett)Jr., and Elizabeth Hall. The family
descended
from Frederick Parrett, who immigrated from Alsase-Lorrainge (between
France and Germany) around 1737. He settled in Toms Brook, Shenendoah
County
VA. Thomas Parrott served in the Revolutionary War with his seven sons.
He died in Mendon Ohio in December of 1880.

interest
is Nancy and Pascal Poindexter (my GGGrandparents) but looking also for
any information on the parents and siblings of John Jenkins, Sr. and
Cynthia's
maiden name, her parents and siblings.

Davis, married Jan. 14, 1812, both died in Cocke County. Their children

McGaha Family.
William Russell McGaha native of Cocke County - his wife was Cynthia
Ellen
Cates they had one son Claude L McGaha, two daughters - Reba McGaha
Jarrett
and Eula McGaha Ailey. William McGaha died at the age of 74 in
Charleston,
Tennessee. He is suppossedly buried in the Charleston Methodist
Cemetery.

KELLY/KELLEY
- I am searching for Kelly/Kelleys who were
among the
first settlers in Greene Co., TN. They settled in an area still known
as
Kelly's Gap. The first to come from Ireland was John Kelly/Kelley Sr.
John
had 14 or more children. One of his children Samuel, who later had a
store
in Kelly's Gap was my gr, gr, gr, grandfather. I recently visited the
area,
also Cocke County and met some of my family, it was very exciting. I
also
visited Kelly's Gap, which has been a dream for me since I was a
teenager
and found out that it existed. I would appreciate any information that
anyone may have regarding this family's history or present. I am also
related
to the Norwood's whom I believe originated in Cocke, Co, (not sure) My
gr., grandfather was Francis Asberry Norwood and his wife Laura whom I
believe was a Reece.

BRAGG, INMAN
- I am researching Inman and Bragg that resided
in Cocke
County, TN in 1830. John Inman was married 1808 to Elizabeth Bragg by
his
uncle, John Inman in Cocke county. Who are the parents of John Inman?
Who
are the parents of Elizabeth Bragg? How is the John Inman that married
John & Elizabeth related to John? The John Inman that married
them
is the son of Shadrach Inman who lived in Jefferson County, but I can
not
make the connection. Can any one please help me to solve this puzzle.
Have
searched for years as to who the parents of John Inman might be, but
have
had no luck. John and Elizabeth moved to IL ca 1833.

Allen Peters

1850. Reuben Allen Peters married Rebecca Sevier, on 28 Dec. 1846 in
Greene
County and they are on the 1850 census in Cocke County. Reuben Peters
married
Elizabeth Nichols on 14 Aug. 1804 in Carter County. Any info will be

Ward, born 1927-1931. He was a member of 19th Infantry Regiment 24th
Infantry
Division, US Army, Korean War. He was listed as MIA, 16 July 1950, He
died
16 November 1950. He entered the Army in Greene County, TN. Wish to

member of his family or anyone with information about his family. He
could
have been a resident of Washington, Hawkins, Cocke or Hamblen Counties
in Tennessee.

and Sarah (Sally)
Bird (Byrd). Thomas was b-ca. 1812 in South Carolina Sarah was b-ca.
1814
in TN. In the tax list of Cocke, 1839 in the 9th Dist. Thomas listed in
the 1840 Cocke Co. Census. Thomas listed in the 1850 Cocke Co. Census.
In the 1860 Cocke Co. census Sarah was listed as head of household, so
Thomas died? between 1850-1860. Sarah's mother was living with them in
the 1850 census. 1860 Census Children' names I know Jame, Charity,
William,
George, Byrd (my Line), Joseph, Mary, Sarah. Would appreicate any info.

COOLEY
- Searching for John Cooley b. 1868, in the 1880
census he is
in his father's (John F. Cooley and Catherine McClanahan Cooley) home
in
White Co. TN. By 1900 John has moved. He was a coal miner and had a
half
sister that married a Hodge that lived near Pleasant Hill, TN. She had
a letter from him in the early 1900's. Stating he had been working in a
coal mine in east TN, and that there had been a cave in but he was OK.
this was the last anyone heard from him. Some ofhis family moved to
West
VA., IL., E. KY, and OK. Any help will be appreciated.

- I am interested in this Jones line that came
to Jefferson
County between 1870 and 1880 from Cocke County. I am interested in any
information that might help clear up who the father of Marvel is. I
believe
I know, but have no documentation. I believe he is the son of Wyatt
Jones
who is in Cocke County by 1840 (from Buncombe County). Wyatt IS the son
of Stephen Jones and Stephen is the son of Joshua Jones who is thought
to be the son of an early Allen Jones. I have much info on Jones that
came
from the Buncombe County area of NC. I would appreciate any help on
this

- Seeking info on my grandfather's
first wife's
family. She was from Newport,Tenn. A daughter of Jesse Ramsay/Ramsey
