George Larew, born 31 Jul 1773 and Cithia Chilton, born 4 Dec 1782, daughter of Thomas and Sapphira Chilton, were married in Jefferson Co., TN 21 Dec 1802, but by 1830 they are included in the Cocke County census. They were the parents of 9 children: William, John, Martha, Sophia, Francis, James, George, Ann, and Mary. According to Cocke County, Tennessee and it's People, they were buried in the Dutch Bottoms area, now covered by Douglas Lake. Their graves were moved to the Dutch Bottoms Baptist Cemetery.
Their daughter Martha married William Ogden. They had a son George who became an internal revenue commissioner, moving from Newport to Morristown in 1844. I have in my possession a photocopy of a letter George wrote to his Aunt Elizabeth Larew upon the death of her husband, James, son of George and Cithia.
I look forward to continuing my family research and finding long-lost relatives with research of their own to share.
