from the widow's pension of Susan Rader:
Daniel Rader - age 34, mustered in 02/14/1862 to Co. R 8th Tenn Vol
Infantry. Killed in action near Atlanta 08/06/1864 by a gunshot wound
to his abdomen.
Married to Susan A. Borden 05/09/1852 by N. W. Easterly in Cocke
County. Marriage license transcript in file.
Children:
- Adolphus F. 03/29/1854
- Joseph M. 09/05/1858
- Nancy C. 07/14/1860
- Eliza S. 04/09/1862
- Hannah E. M. R. 09/22/1864
Tempy Praiswater was midwife and gave these names of children:
Adolphus Franklin and Eliza Syntha.
Sarah Blazer was midwife for Hannah.
Ruhanny Rader and Elizabeth Rader were witnesses that Susan was married
to Daniel and were present when Joseph Melvin was born
Susan died 01/28/1915 (death certificate says 01/27/1915; no parents
given; says she was born in Greene Co).
John Nease and William Winter of the 2nd district of Cocke County were
witnesses that Susan was wife of Daniel.
