Introduction: I viewed a copy of the Jonathan Hull Bible in 1996. No copyright or publication date is given in the Bible but it appears to have been published by Joseph McDowell on 25 Market Street, city not listed, or Kimber & Sharpless, #8 South Fourth Street, city not listed.

The Bible at that time was in the possession of Mary Elise Hull, of Celina who died March 26, 2001 in Clay County, TN. The current owner of the Bible is not known by this writer.

All of the handwritten entries in the Bible are just scattered throughout the book and are not on one specific page or section. The Bible is quite old and tattered with fading writing. Some of the pages are completely loose. The last page or pages may be missing, hence not all of Jonathan and Nancy’s children appear to be listed but may have been listed on a lost page. The entries which are readable are as follows, below. Since Jonathan Hull died in Overton Co., Tennessee on January 31, 1883, any entries with dates after that date were obviously not written by Jonathan himself. Nancy died March 4, 1887. My comments are in parentheses.

 Jonathan Hull was born on friday July 31, 1801 in N Jersey, Middlesex County

Nancy Hull was born March 15, 1804 in Kentucky, Cumberland County

Jonathan Hull & Nancy was mared February 13, 1825 in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Sunday the 13th.

Elizabeth C. Hull was born November 23th, 1825 on Wednesday in Cumberland County, Kentucky (daughter of Jonathan and Nancy Beaty Hull)

Andrew Beaty Hull was born saterday 17May , 1828 in Cumberland County, Kentucky (son of Jonathan and Nancy Beaty Hull)

Louisa Hull was borne on Monday the 3 day of June in Tennessee State fentress County. (1839? June 3rd was a Monday) (daughter of Jonathan & Nancy Beaty Hull)

Nancy Emmaline Hull dis east the sixth day of October 1842 on wensday (perhaps a daughter of Jonathan and Nancy that was born and died on this date)

Martha Ann was bornd on December 27, 1843 (Martha Ann Hull, daughter of Jonathan and Nancy Beaty Hull, born in Fentress County, Tennessee; died 31 Jan 1922, in Pike County, Arkansas)

Mary Carline Sanders was bornd monday April the 4th, 1870 (daughter of Frank and Margaret (Hull) Sanders; granddaughter of Jonathan and Nancy Beaty Hull)

Leonard Chapman Hull was born July the 8, 1878 in Overton Co Tenn 4 Civil Distric (great grandson of Jonathan and Nancy Beaty Hull; grandson of Margaret Hull Sanders; son of Alex Hull)

Lizzie Lorenia Hull was born March the 7, 1880 on Sunday Overton Tenn 4 Distric (great granddaughter of Jonathan and Nancy Beaty Hull; granddaughter of Margaret Jane  Hull Sanders; daughter of Alex Hull)

Alex F. Hull moved to Wm Bowers Mill Sept the 23, 1881 on friday and NN Berry School Saturday

(The following entries could not have been written by Jonathan Hull himself or his wife, Nancy, since Jonathan died in 1883 and Nancy died in 1887. Additionally, their children, Elizabeth, Margaret, Andrew, and Morgan, had also died before the next entry, dated 1902. The author(s) of these entries is unknown. Jonathan and NancyÕs children Martha, Louisa, and possibly Cynthia survived them.)
