GORDON<\/strong> and <strong>Miss Cordelia HAYNES<\/strong>, of Macedonia, took their friends by surprise by driving to McKenzie and getting married. \u00a0The ceremony was said <strong>by Rev. Mr. CRAWFORD<\/strong> while the contracting parties occupied seats in their buggy. \u00a0After the marriage vows had been taken they drove to the home of the groom and were the recipients of many congratulations and well wishes from their large circle of friends. \u00a0This is the happy consummation of a courtship of about fourteen years standing. \u00a0Dr. GORDON is one of Carroll county&#8217;s best citizens, a fine physician and enjoys a lucrative practice. \u00a0The bride is a most estimable lady, possessing the high esteem of a large acquaintance and the union is certainly a happy one. \u00a0The DEMOCRAT extends congratulations and wishes them a happy married life.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Carroll County Democrat, February 27, 1897.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last Sunday Dr. B.G.
