Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born April 21, 1828<\/p>\n<p>Died July 1, 1808<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph: A wife devoted, A mother affectionate, A friend ever kind and true.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>On a tall obelisk<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. John McGinn Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Son of&nbsp;<strong>J.N. Patton<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Margaret McGinn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Jan.28, 1859<\/p>\n<p>Died Feb 1, 1892<\/p>\n<p>Aged 33 yrs 3 days<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph: Universally respected and loved in life.&nbsp;&nbsp;He died at peace with all mankind, with the glorious hope of the rest that remaineth for people of God.<\/p>\n<p>(He died after a road building accident and amputation of his leg. He left a 24 year old widow,&nbsp;<strong>Ada Moore Patton<\/strong>, and sons&nbsp;<strong>Charles Newton<\/strong>&nbsp;age 2,&nbsp;<strong>John Maurice<\/strong>&nbsp;age 4)<\/p>\n<p><u>On a traditional stone headed with the Masonic emblem<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Samuel Marion Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Husband of&nbsp;<strong>Nancy McLoud<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Feb. 14, 1819<\/p>\n<p>Died Dec. 8, 1886<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>On a double stone headed Mother on the right and Father on the left<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>John Overton Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Mar. 6. 1811<\/p>\n<p>Died Dec. 29, 1892<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph: A devoted husband and loving father<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nancy&nbsp;&nbsp;E. Jernigan Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Mar. 25, 1818<\/p>\n<p>Died Jan. 9, 1912<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph: She was a fond mother and a friend to all.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>On a double stone with carving, and at the bottom, in large letters, Brother and Sister:<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert J. Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Dec. 9 1855<\/p>\n<p>Died Nov. 16, 1927<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah J. Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Nov. 3, 1850<\/p>\n<p>Died Jan. 10, 1928<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph for both reads: Gone but not forgotten<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Traditional stone with carving of clasped hands carved at the top<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Samuel Y. Brandon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Son of&nbsp;<strong>David<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Elizabeth Marie Brandon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born June 18, 1853<\/p>\n<p>Died Feb. 23, 1897<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph:&nbsp;&nbsp;Sleep in Jesus blessed sleep, from which none ever wake or weep.&nbsp;&nbsp;Thy will be done Lord, Thy will be done.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Single traditional stone:<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Charlie J. Brandon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Son of&nbsp;<strong>Samuel Y<\/strong>. and&nbsp;<strong>Bessie Patton Brandon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Nov. 21, 1887<\/p>\n<p>Died Apr. 13, 1894<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph:&nbsp;&nbsp;The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.&nbsp;&nbsp;Blessed be the name of the Lord<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Single traditional stone:<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>William Decatur Patton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born July 13, 1861<\/p>\n<p>Died July 18, 1908<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph: An honest man is the noblest work of God.<\/p>\n<p>(son of&nbsp;<strong>Jasper Newton Patton<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Margaret McGinn Patton.<\/strong>&nbsp;W.D. never married)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Short square stone<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>William R. McCorkle McGinn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Relict of&nbsp;<strong>Amzie McGinn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born Jun. 4, 1786<\/p>\n<p>Died Jun. 28, 1875<\/p>\n<p>Epitaph: Thy memory shall ever be a guiding star to heaven.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Broken Stone,<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mary J. ????<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Could be&nbsp;<strong>Mary J. Patton<\/strong>, daughter of&nbsp;<strong>John Overton Patton<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Nancy Jernigan<\/strong>. Or could be&nbsp;<strong>Mary J. Brandon<\/strong>, daughter of&nbsp;<strong>Elizabeth Patton<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>David Brandon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Inscription reads:<br \/>\n<em>A loving wife<br \/>\nA mother dear<br \/>\nA faithful friend<br \/>\nIs buried here<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Others that are believed to be buried here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>David G.
