The Cannon County mailing list is free and is designed to unite researchers who are conducting research of a genealogical or historical nature in Cannon County. The service is generously provided to by RootsWeb. When you send a message to the list, everyone who is subscribed receives a copy of it. An archive of all posts to the list is available.
To subscribe in MAIL MODE, where all subscribers get an E-Mail containing the information as it is “posted”, send a message with the word SUBSCRIBE (and nothing else) to:
To subscribe in DIGEST MODE, where a digest of recent “posts” are collected and downloaded, usually daily, with a subject list, at the top, send a message with the word SUBSCRIBE(and nothing else) to:

Put “subscribe” in both the subject and message area, if you like. (remove any signature lines, etc.)

If your effort is successful, you will soon receive an email containing a welcome message as well as instructions for posting messages, unsubscribing, changing modes, etc.

  1. Is there a way I can find a person who possibly lives in Cannon Co? His name is Jack Duke. Any help would be most appreciated.

  2. Looking for info about the Terance E. Prater family in Cannon County. He was born in 1838 in Tennessee. He married Harriet Patton whose father was father was John O. Patton, a teacher in Cannon County in 1850 through 1860. John married Nancy Jernigan who was also from Tennessee.
