William Womble was b. 1800 in NC -his parents & siblings are not known. He settled in McMinn Co. before 1822. His wife was Elizabeth unk last name b. 1790 – Their children were:

\nBen & Onie Womble sold their farm in Polk Co in the mid 1930’s and moved to Cleveland on Church St. Both Onie & Ben died there and are buried down the street in the Calvary Hill Cemetery(?) in the family plot. Ben & Onie had three sons that served in WWII – Clarence served aboard the destroyer U.S.S. McKee – Carl & Claude served in the army. Claude was killed and his remains were brought home one year after his death.
