The Maroon family were early settlers of Blount County and Bradley County, TN. Samuel Maroon, Sr. was a 2nd<\/sup>LT in the Union Army, along with his four brothers. Peter and Samuel fought for the Union, and Thomas, Silas and John fought for the Confederacy. The Maroon Family Bible belonged to Samuel Maroon, Sr.<\/p>\n
