Eli moved to nearby Bradley Co., sometime between 1850-60, where he is found in the 1860 census. Eli had a daughter Sarah A. SUTHERLAND, b abt 1844-46 in Hamilton Co., TN, d 1917 in Atlanta, GA, who was married in Bradley Co., TN, to (1) David LOFTIS who died 1864 from gunshot wound in Civil War; (2) Thomas J. \nI have found out that she was buried in Beech Springs Cemetery on Grisham’s Farm in Bradley County. We went there but could not find her grave. This cemetery is in a wooded pasture area, very neglected with many, many unmarked graves, just stones as headstones.<\/p>\n

They are both buried in the Lebanon Church Cemetery along with at least 2 unmarked graves between husband and wife and an unmarried daughter Mary is buried next to her father. \nThis appeared in The Cleveland TImes paper on July 26 do not have a year but it was between about 1930 and 1944. Miss Josephine WOOLUM and Mr. J. Robert JOINES to be married on. Miss. WOOLUM is surgical supervisor at Physicians and Surgeons Hospital( this could have been a hospital in Chattanooga.) Mr. Robert JOINES is a regestered pharmacist and was with a Chatanooga radio co. I can not find any information on any of this. Would think that the Cleveland Times would have been Cleveland, Tenn. This was my great aunt and she was very elusive to say the least. They started out in Rhea Co. in 1880 but were in Bradley by 1900. Abraham’s wife was Harriet Margaret DOOLEY and it’s possible some of her family came with them.
