Bert and Ella May graduated from Cleveland High School and both gave commencement speeches (originals in possession). Wm is known to have been a part of building the Broad Street Methodist Church, the Hardwick House, and a Filhauer(?) home. Have photo of Hardwick home. Riley Anderson Giddens, Sr&#8230;he was ordained into the Holston Conference of the Methodist Epsiscopal Church in 1842. He had a land grant also in Bradley County. He , his Mother Nancy Giddens and younger sister, Clarenda Giddens m. Isaac Rogers , Al&#8230;and younger brother William moved to Bradley Co., from Monroe Co., in or before 1836&#8230;when it became finally a county. In 1985 I completed the Giddens Family History, written story form and includes my version of Bradley Co., History along with others. The book is 185 years of this family which includes Allied Families. Some months back a lady who is a Selvidge Descendant like myself&#8230;told me she had email from a man , who had a journal , books or documents Rev. Giddens wrote in his own handwriting.
