Searching for family of Martin VanBuren RICHARDSON, b 13 May 1841 in Bradley Co., TN. He joined the Confederate Army from Bellefonte, AR in 1862 and at about the same time, he married Narcissa KING. Their children: (1) Wesley b 1863, (2) Amzie Tilford b 1866 and (3) Bellzora b 1868. He deserted this family during the war’s aftermath. Any help in discovering my Cherokee ancestry would be appreciated greatly. They lived in or near Cleveland, TN. My grandmother’s mother had Cherokee blood, either 1\/4 or 1\/2. Her name was Ollie Oleana Brown and her maiden name may have been Webb but her mother’s maiden name was Richmond, I think. It could be vice versa. And I think Ollie’s father was called Tom but not sure. He was married to Martha Ann Richmond Webb, I believe. But it was the father who was Cherokee, I think. According to the June 29, 1880 cenus taken in Cleveland in Bradley County Bell was a Widowed, servant \/cook at The Layne Hotel. Bell and her children were listed as mulatto but it was said that they were Cherokee. All of her children were listed as servants. Jane Tucker married John Tibbs of Cleveland Tenn. John TIBBS was a slave he went to school with his mistress’ children and sat in the back of the room. When John was set free by his owner he was given 2 acres of land, a mule and restaurant. His former owner also took John to vote and he was appointed to serve on the Board of Education in Cleveland Tenn and worked with several Civic organizations. John also owned a bakery in Cleveland. He previously lived in LEE County, Virginia at YOAKUM Station. A new YOAKUM Station was built in Tennessee in what is now Speedwell. George married Martha VAN BEBBER in GREENBRIER County, VA. about 1776. They had twelve children. I don’t know where either Allen and Nancy were born. In 1829, I found a land grant for 100 acres of land in Morgan Co. Tn. issued to Allen BARGER. I now have a deed for this property out of Morgan Co. Tn. for the 100 acres signed by Governor William Carroll of Tn. It is my belief that Allen and Nancy lived in Bledsoe Co. Tn. beforing moving to Ripley Co. Missouri in the 1830’s. I am interested in who Allen and Nancy’s parents are; were there any siblings? When was Allen BARGER and Nancy BULLOCK married?
