Carey was admitted on trial into the Holston Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1903 and became a full member in 1907.<\/p>\n<p>He served acceptably the following appointments: Andersonville, Oliver Springs, Oakdale, McDonald, Chatata, Tellico Plains, Alton Park, Manker Memorial, Beaver Ridge, Rockwood, and Dunlap.<\/p>\n<p>He died suddenly while in the midst of the activities of his last charge. His funeral was conducted by his District Superintendent, R. L. Stapleton, at the Church in Dunlap, with a large concourse of friends from far and near. Burial was at Cleveland, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Brother Carey was a good preacher, a good organizer and effective in his work with young people.<\/p>\n<p>Written by R. L.
