Marriage records for Blount Co. indicate marriage of Wm. Elledge and Lucy Summy 23 Mar 1849. Wm. and Lucy are my great grandparents. Willoughyby,Vincent,Jesse,Shadrack are all buried in ELLEJOY Cemetery, 15 miles E of Maryville, TN. Sisters moved to Iowa with husbands.

All I know about my TN connection for Andrew J. Nash was that he was suppose to have been born there in 1809 according to the census. Can someone help me place him in the correct TN county? My maternal 3rd. great grandfather is Andrew Jackson NASH b. 1809 TN, d.23 Jun 1854 Macoupin Co., IL, married 1. Mary Polly MISENHEIMER (dau. of John MISENHEIMER & Mary FOGLEMAN). He married 2. Mrs. Pacify Tinsey MANN and had son Francis (Frank) Marion Nash). Andrew and Mary had the following children: 1. John M. b. 1832 IL 2. Robert Franklin 1835 IL-1901 TX, m.29 Sept1859 in IL to Sarah POTTS 3. Andrew J. 1840 IL-1923 IL, m.1878 to Sarah TAYLOR 4. William J. 1842 IL -1884 IL, m. 1867 IL to Frances Jane OWEN (these are my 2nd. great grandparents). Andrew Jackson NASH might have been married before he married Mary MISENHEIMER as there was a Sarah NASH who m. 1849 in IL to Robert HILL. There was also a Martha NASH who m.1850 IL to James A. OUTLAW. On the 1830 census of Montgomery Co., IL, was listed Andrew NASH as male 20/30 yrs, 1 female under 5, one female 5/10 and one female 20/30. In 1853, Andrew was indicted for the murder of Alexander LOCKERMAN. Andrew and LOCKERMAN were drunk at a July 4th picnic and there was a fight. Andrew stabbed LOCKERMAN and left for 2 years. He was found in AR and brought back to IL for the trial. He was found guilty and was suppose to hang. His sentences was commuted to life in prison but there was a riot and he was killed.

I have traced my several great grandparents back to Blount, TN. There is a great grandfather (Fieldson Davis) that I find no record of? I've found a will of (Willoughby Rogers), that names his g'son (Willoughby Davis) Fieldson son, and marraige records of his wifes, 2 marriage to a (David Orman) . and I've found records of her parents (Willoughby / Mary Rogers). Fieldson Davis, he came to usa with 3 brothers, from Wales there names are unknowen. Wife's maiden name Zilphia Rogers, my father has her name as Polly Ann, his son was Wlloughby Davis B. 1814-16, Blount co. Also listed below are Zilphia brothers and sisters, I have some info on them but woul d like more! Vincent,Jesse,Shadrack Rogers stayed in Blount Co. for some time. Willoughby Davis married a Polly Orman, David Orman's Youngest sister.

Lists John ROSS of Captain Scott's (50 acres) Robert BAILEY of Captain Kelley's; Samuel HOUSTON of Captain McGinley's Historically 1793 - Houston was born in VA; 1806 - Houston came to TN If this tax roll was for 1801, Houston would be 8 years old. Looking for the HUTTON family who may have lived in Blount Co, TN on their migration to MO. Parents were John and Catherine Phillips HUTTON who were married in Washington Co, VA in 1817. Place and dates of deaths unknown. Sons migrating into MO during 1830s were Edward, Amon, and John Milton HUTTON. John Milton HUTTON was b. 26 Apr 1822 and married a Delilah WALKER, b. 24 Dec 1824 in TN. Have been unable to locate their marriage record but believe date to be 1844. Searching for information on GOTTFRIED (KERCHER) CARRIGER, SR.. A TN Hist. Commission plaque "CARRIGER'S LANDING" now stands in the Hunter Community of Carter Co documenting the CARRIGER family's mark on early Carter Co. history. Gottfried and Anna Margaratha Anspach CARRIGER had the following children: Nicholas, Michael, John, Elizabeth, Godfrey, Jr. and Christian. In 1811 Nicholas and Catherine CARRIGER and all of their known children moved to Lincoln Co, TN. Many of Nicholas's children later migrated into Greene Co, IL. Christian and Levicy WARD CARRIGER had 14 children, all of whom were born in Carter Co. In 1842 Christian and Levicy and some of the younger children left Carter Co and settled in Independence, MO. Nicholas CARRIGER (the son of Christian CARRIGER) became a selfmade historian having documented the events of the CARRIGER family to become the sixth family to "OVERLAND IN 1846".
