Looking for any information on Thomas N. Tuck b.1822 Halifax Co. VA d.1891 Cedartown Polk Co., GA m. Sarah Ann Powell in 1858. He is found on Muster Roll of Co. K 40th Regiment Ga Vol. Army of TN. Alas "Old Tom Tuck" article published in the Co nfederate Veteran 11/1909 number 11. He may have had a brother Hezakiah Tuck who is buried in Maryville TN. It is thought that his family moved from VA to TN. Thomas may have had a 1st wife in Blount Co., Tn. and two children. My great-grandmother said t hat her grandfather or father never spoke of his family or his service in the civil war. Nor did they ever meet family from VA or Tn. It is thought that he may have changed his name from Tut.

Help!!! Lost my g.g.grandfather Julius MILLER born abt 1822, in McMinn County, TN. He married Mary Smith b. July 28, 1822, who was born in Cabarris County, NC. They married 9/6/1844. He left for Grayson County, TX in Sept 1873 by wagon. He may have r eached TX late 1873 or early 1874. Remaining family here would like to know what happened to him and the children that went with him. He had a lot of kids: James A., Elizabeth, William Taylor, John B., Sarah J., Nancy C., Mary Lue, Susie, and Bozi e. Any help would be appreciated. Also researching TEAGUE, TALLENT, YODER, BEST and WEST lines.

I am interested in corresponding with anyone researching or have information on the Trippett family in TN. All the Trippetts in TN belong to the same family. In particular, Jonathan Trippett (Tribbett) of Blout Co, TN. He died ca 1830 and emancipated hi s slaves, Anthony and Mary, at his death. The Trippett name has been mispelled thru the years, especially with Tribbett instead of Trippett.

Searching for any information on the line of Taylors that came to Blount County between 1785-1805. Do the names Grincefield, Rufus, Daniel, Redden, or Madison Taylor ring a bell with anyone? According to relatives who have since passed, some descenda nts of this line were still in the area as of the 1950's.
Particularly interested in the name Grincefield Taylor(b 1785, d 1873, son of Daniel Taylor and Jane Rowland. Other Taylors appearing in this line are Rufus, John Calvin, Reddin, Hugh, and Thomas. Any information is greatly appreciated, I'm willing to share what I have as well.

ROBERT LAFAYETTE HOOD's death certificate (CA 1906) list's his parent's as ROBERT HOOD and MARY ISH. The 1850 & 1860 census records for Polk county list his mother as born in TN about 1798. Based on her last name, she is probably related to JOHN ISH an early settler in Blount Co who was killed by Indians in 1794. However, based on her year of birth it is unlikely she is his daughter. Can anyone help with this puzzle?

His father was killed by the Shawnee Indians ca. 1758. SAMUEL was reared by his e lder brother, JOHN B. DAVIS and his mother. JOHN served as a Capt. in the Rev. JOHN m. 1) MARY ALLISON 2) MARY (?) CORRY. SAMUEL enlisted as a Pvt. in the Rev. in Abingdon, VA. He and JANE/JENNY (?) migrated to BLOUNT CO, TN in the 1790's near MARYVILLE - thence to near present NEW MARKET, AL. in the early 1800's. 1880 Census of Blount Co shows the following family: Allen T.JONES 53 b in NC, Narcissa J. dau 28 b in TN Martha C. dau 29 b in TN, Nancy L. dau 14 b in TN Mary E. dau 12 b in TN, William R. son 1 b in TN also living in the home: Riley JAMES s/son 18 b in NC, Margaret JAMES s/dau 16 b in NC Rebecca G. WILLIAMS g.dau 5 b in TN, Rachel L. WILLIAMS g.dau 1 b in TN Family history says that she was Earline Hollifield and died 10 days after the birth of her son William Robert Jones (my ancestor)who was b ca 18 78 in TN. We believe there is another marriage for Allen after the death of the Unknown James wife and would be VERY interested in that information as well. Does anyone have marriage recores for Blount Co TN??? This family came from Buncombe Co NC in abou t 1840 to Cocke Co and stayed there until before 1880 when they show up in Blount County.
