I think I am finally on the right track, I hope! My great Grandfather Henry Watson Walker was born in Sugartree, Tennessee. He married and died in Carroll County though, and I am having such a hard time finding his father. His parents names were Ed Walker and Mollie Cherry. Ed had a brother named Jobe. They lived in Sugar tree. Well, According to rootsweb, I found it in Decatur county, and spent a month looking at that web site and found nothing. Went through some old books my dad sent to me, and it mentioned Sugar Tree, Benton County, Tennessee. So, is there or was there a Sugar Tree there in Benton county, and is there a Benton message board I can use? Thank you. There is another Sugar Tree in Cannon county too, I don't know which to go to???

I am researching the Sykes family and I believe that my Thomas Sykes may be a brother to Sarah Sykes Cuff. However, I am trying to prove that. I saw in your information that Sarah was born 27 May 1824. I show that Thomas was born 15 April 1824. If the birth dates are correct on both individuals, then I know that I do not have the correct parents of William Thomas "TOM" and Nancy Moore Sykes of Benton County, TN. I appreciate your help.

I am searching for any record of the marriage between a James Robert Pettigrew and a Caroline about 1848-1855. Marriage was probably 1853-4. The name could be misspelled as Petigrew, Petgrew, Pettygrew, Pettigrowe, Petigru, Pettigrove, Pedigrew, etc. Their first child, Nancie (or Nancy), was born in TN in 1855. James seems to have been born about 1833 or 1834, Caroline about 1835-7.
I found my GGgrandfather in the 1870 Ballard County, KY Census. James was listed near a Alfred (or Alford) Petigrew. I can only find two James' born in TN about this time. One was a James listed in Carroll County, TN, b. ~1835-7, the other in Hamilton County, ~1834. I found both in either the 1840 or 1850 TN Censuses. Neither are in the 1860 Census. Hamilton County James is the right age, but Carroll County James had a brother Alfred. An Alfred Petigrew married a Lucinda Hollowell, (Lucinda's guardian - Reddin Hollowell.) Alfred relocated to Tennessee by 1890 and was present for the special 1895? Census. James could be going by either James, Jim, Robert, or Bob. Or even listed as Robert James. Caroline was possibly either a Fowler or Hollowell, but this may not be her maiden name. I wish I could give you more information, but this is everything that I can find. I have reached one of those 'brick walls.' Any help greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find the parents of my great-great grandmother and great-great grandfather. This is all the information that I have.
Elizabeth J. Smalley born in Tenn 1835. married Adam Waller born in N.C. 22 Oct. 1834. They were married in Arkansas in 1854 a few months before Nancy Catherine was born. They are on the Arkansas census 1860, with a Solomon Waller born in Tn. abt. 1852 . This could be a child or brother of Adam Waller. Solomon married in Arkansas. Nancy Catherine Waller born in Ark. June, 1854. Nancy Catherine is my Great-grandmother. She married Andrew Jackson Graves in Arkansas. Mary E. Waller born in Ark. 1856. I have nothing else about her. William H. Waller born in Ark. 1858. I have nothing else on him. George Washington Waller born in Ark. 1859. Nothing else on him. Sally Ann Waller born in Ark. 1862. Nothing else. I can not find them on the 1850 Arkansas census

I am looking for my Grandfather that was a Williams from Benton County TN. I (Kenneth Norman Medlin) was born in same county by the Medlin name because my grandmother (Medlin) did not marry my Grandfather. He was called Jim (James) Williams! I was informed that before my father Vernon Medlin was born July 1917, Jim departed Benton County to live in MO, I think in the Cape Girardeau area.
I was told that he was the Brother or Son of Toddie Williams, DOB 1885, DOD 1929, that was buried in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. Toddie was married to Emma Mitchell DOB 1886, DOD 1924. Do you know who Toddie's parents were? Do you know the real name of my Grandfather and what happened to him after departing Camden. DOB & DOD etc.? Hurley of Camden, is Zell's son. Some relations. Thomas Norton of Bruceton is also some relation. The Mother of Francis Moore Hicks, the wife of the late Adrian Moore that lived south of Bruceton, was the sister or niece of Jim Williams. My address is: 1230 Cherry Rd. Hickory Withe, TN 38028. My phone number is (901) 465-5699.
