I have found a reference to a Griffin Holbrooks in the 1850 census in Benton County, Tennessee with a list of his children. I am a descendant who is interested in finding whether he was there in 1840 as well. I will not have the opportunity to return to Tennessee (I have relatives in Nashville and can occasionally get to the State Library downtown) but would be greatful for any other information on Griffin and his family before 1850 or death or burial information. I know that his three sons, James Hampton, Jefferson, and Albertis went to Illinois before the Civil War and volunteered as soldiers there, but do not know what became of Griffin or the rest of the family. Anything you can find would be most appreciated. Please send responses to judy@afn.org. Thank you for your help.

I have information that states that a Claibourn Spicer, age 9, appears in the 1860 Census for Benton Co. TN. Claibourn (Clayborne) could be my grandfather; I would appreciate any information anyone may have on him or his parents James and Patience as well as information on his brothers Munroe and James and his sisters, Nancy, Elisabeth, and Sarah.

I am looking for information on any of the EARPs that moved from the Rutherford and Coffee Counties in Tennessee to the Benton and Obion Counties of Tennessee. They would be related to Jefferson, Mariah and Jane EARP. They would have moved to the Benton and Obion areas about the 1850's or 60's. Their mothers name was Nancy EARP. It has been suggested that her maiden name was MOORE. Have not been able to find Nancy's husbands first name, he is often referred to as"Unknown EARP". Mariah's husbands name was Levi Cooke ANDERSON. He was the son of Eli and Nellie (WOODKIN) ANDERSON. Jane's husband name was Peter ARNOLD.
Any information on these families would be appreciated. Spelling of names may vary. Thanks in advance.
