I am looking for PERRY HARVEY MATTHEWS married to ELIZABETH McNICHOLAS and I believe they lived in either Benton or Dickson County prior to 1856. ELIZABETH is said to have died in 1854 and I believe that they were married around 1844. There should have been other MATTHEWS in the area with names of ROBERT CALVIN, JOHN LeROY, and JAMES. I have this information from a biography dictated by my ggrandfather. These are all the names I have, but PERRY must have re-married as there is also mentioned a daughter born in Tennessee in 1858 after her father died in Missourin in 1857. I don't know the name of the second wife. The children that were of the union of PERRY and ELIZABETH were, AMELIA ELLEN (died at age 13), CLEMTINE(died at age 11), WILLIAM PERRY, and SIDNEY CLAY. These children were all taken to Arkansas in the care of their Uncle ROBERT CALVIN. The girls died soon after they entered his care, and WILLIAM several years later. SIDNEY CLAY was my ggrandfather. The daughter born after her father's death.
