Researching Samuel Alexander TERRY b. abt 1845 and d. 1899 Benton Co. he m. Nancy Crockett SHURLEY 1881 Holladay, TN. Children are Pearl Smith TERRY b. 1886, George Thomas TERRY b. 1896, Marvin TERRY , William Kibble TERRY b. 1889. By researching this Terry family I hope to find the ancestors of my Julia H. TERRY b. Sept , 1860 in Decatur Co. TN ( mother listed as a Terry and birth father Lud DAVIS) Julia H. Terry and George Thomas Terry are cousins. Trying to prove that both sets of families are desc. of Moses Terry (b. abt 1730) and Sarah Keeble of VA. and that Julia is a granddaughter of Kibble Terry of Bedford Co., Marshall, Co. and Decatur Co. Julia m. Joseph J. Conrad in 1883 and most of their desc. live in Benton Co. Also researching the Davis & Conrad families.

DAVIDISON, MELTON, PAFFORD, REDDICK I am a descendant of William PAFFORD, bro. of John PAFFORD who were among the first settlers to Benton County. Would like to know if anyone has found the true ancestor to William & John. My PAFFORD line is from William who married Mourning MELTON, they had Henry PAFFORD who married Sarah REDDICK, dau. of Kenneth & Rebecca BREWER REDDICK. Henry & Sarah had Henry Chandler PAFFORD who married Kisiah DAVIDISON, dau. of Joseph & Mary Ann PARKER DAVIDSON. Henry & Sarah had Orville Joseph PAFFORD, my grandfather. I have been told that Joseph's father, Abraham, was the son of a Joseph DAVIDSON of Dickson County and not the son of another Abraham, the Revolutionary Soldier of Benton County. If anyone has further proof on any of this or would like to share information, please contact me at joyners@bellsouth.net or joynerway@geocities.com

I AM TRYING TO FIND MY GRANDMOTHERS FATHER SHE IS GETTING VERY OLD AND I PROMISED HER THAT I WOULD FIND HER ROOTS. SHE HAD ONLY SEEN HIM WHEN SHE WAS VERY YOUNG. HE HAD "ANOTHER" FAMILY IN TEXAS AND WENT BACK TO THEM AT HIS FAMILIES REQUEST.SUPPOSEDLY HE WAS WORKING ON THE RAILROAD WHEN HE GOT IN A FIGHT AND HIT ANOTHER MAN WITH A BOARD THAT LATER KILLED THE MAN. HE TOLD MY GRANDMOTHERS MOTHER THAT HIS FAMILY WOULD HELP HIM WITH THE LEGAL PROBLEMS IF HE WENT BACK TO HIS WIFE. HOW WOULD YOU GO ABOUT FINDING THIS FAMILY?? WE BELIEVE HIS OTHER DAUGHTERS NAMES WERE MARCELLE AND LOUISE POSSIBLY BORN BEFORE 1920.
