Searching for any relations to NATHAN RUEL WILLIAMS. born c1814 poss. Tenn. wife poss. LUCY, born poss. N.C.. He is listed on the Benton Co. tax records 1836-1843 as N.R. WILLIAMS. I have also noticed there is an additional Nathan Ruel Williams in Benton Co. same time period. Both have children in school. I have come to a possible conclusion that it is probable that the second N.R. WILLIAMS is the father to my great grandfather. This older one moves later to Carroll Co. and dies and in his will disowns my N.R. and 2 other children. But I cannot prove any of this. I do not know or can I figure out the circumstances, but on the 1850 Benton Co. census my N.R. is listed with wife and children, for the last time as a family. He leaves Benton Co. either Lucy dies or divorces him, I can find no record of her at all but the children are separated soon after this and he sells his land to Samuel Ross of Carroll Co. in October 1854. On the 1850 census he is listed as M.R.WILLIAMS, an error by the census taker. Children listed on 1850 census are:JOHN, AMANDA, JACKSON,(who I think is really MARTIN poss Jackson), JAMES, PARLEA, JOSEPH , all born TN. When he sells the land they disappear and in 1860, JOHN and AMANDA appear in census in Lawrence Co. Arkansas married already. N.R. appears in 1870 in same place, then the children appear little by little. This info came from relatives that are now decendents of some of the children. The other NATHAN RUEL WILLIAMS, that could be possible father to mine, is also listed on 1850 census. This one also has some census taker mistakes. It shows wife MARY, I believe his wife was NANCY, MARY is MARY POLLY, who is married May 23, 1850, to JAMES HIRAM SMITH. Also listed is SARAH, age 42, ELIZABETH age 25, NANCY age 23, MATHEW HERN age 14, WILLIAM AGE 7, and ROBERT age 3. Missing children to this man is ALLEN W. NATHAN R., BENJAMIN J., JOHN T, JAMES R.. They were too old to be at home for census. All of these people are listed in the older N.R. WILLIAMS will. He is listed on the mortality schedule for Carroll Co. NATHAN WILLIAMS, age 70 , born VA, died March 1860. Any one having any information on the people I have listed, please contact me at E-Mail ZAK1NONLY@AOL.COM. Any info is greatly appreciated. Happy Hunting

Searching for information on a John GREER who married Nancy McDANIEL in Benton Co. in 1838. Nancy was an incorrect entry by the court clerk. Her name really was Gracy, her mother was a Nancy. Gracy's father was Archibald McDANIEL. The McDANIEL's and GREERS are in Marshall Co. MS in 1850. John GREER is not in the census. Is anyone researching these lines. I need help. My Thomas Jesse GREER is in Marshall Co. MS in the 1850 census. He is born in August 1833 in Missouri. He arrives in Hunt Co, TX in 1852. By 1860, he has acquired over 2,000 acres of land. He buys a commission in the Army of the Confederacy. There was some wealth in this man's family

Looking for information on Eagle Creek Baptist Church in Benton County that was formed in 1887. My 3g-grandfather, Rev. J.C. PARK was the first pastor of the church. I would like to hear from others who might have information on the church & possibly either first or second hand knowledge & stories of my 3g-grandfather. Would also be interested to know if there are any records of the church left from the 1887 formation.
