I am interested in the family history of my grt g-father, Robert Washington AYRES, of Camden, Benton Co, TN and any related individuals and neighbors. He organized a volunteer infantry group and served as Capt. for a time. Related persons are Martha Ann HEGGIE (wife), Love, Rushing, and Hudson. I have quite a bit of info. of RWA life history and descendents, but little about ancestors. Would love to get and share info. Thanks

Looking for written proof that ENOCH DEASON RUSHING was the son of John RUSHING b. 1776 and Milly DEASON. Enoch Deason bn 1820/21 in Bedford or surrounding counties came to Fayette County Alabama in 1850. Where was he living before 1850?? Was he named for Milly DEASONs father, Enoch DEASON? Milly Deason RUSHING was left with "several small children" when John RUSHING died in 1827. Was one of these children my Enoch Deason RUSHING? Milly came to Al early 1850,s. Her farm and Enoch Deason RUSHINGs farm were very near each other. Can anyone find the names of the small children left in 1827? Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Would like to contact descendants of the HATLEY, PEEBLES, CAPP, ASHBY or WATSON families, all of whom were living in Benton Co.in 1860. David WAATSON was living in Stewart as early as 1808. Edward HATLEY was in the south end of Benton Co. before 1830. His father, Sherwood, two brothers: Hardy and Mark & sisters: Martha Hatley OATSVALL, Elizabeth Hatley LYNCH and Nancy Hatley LOOPER were all living in Benton Co. before 1840. ASHBY and PEEBLES families didn't show up in Benton Co. until 1860 census.

Looking for info on Martha Jane BELL b 3-29-1862, Benton Co, TN. Believed to have been on the 1870 Benton Co., TN US census in the household of Margarette COLLINS. Martha later moved to Texas and married into the DIKES/DYKES family. Who are her parents? and why was she in a different household at the age of 8?

Childre were David (1840), Mary Ann Francis (1842, md Henry F. BARKER 1864), James (1844), Martha Ann (1847), Andrew Jackson (1850), Margaret (1851), John (1855): Do not know where in TN Britton and Martha married. Children were born in Benton Co., TN. Looking for parents of William Livingston RUFF. His mother may have been an EASON. He is a 12 year old living with a COLE family in Arkansas in the 1870 census. They are in Benton County in 1850, and in Arkansas in 1860, but no William RUFF. Several Benton and Carroll county marriages between RUFFs and EASONs, but none seem to fit. Any information appreciated.

I am trying to find burial sites for the HURT family. I believe they lived in Benton County in 1878. Many members died of yellow fever that year, within a one month period of time: Catherine HURT (d 9/25/1878), B.F. HURT (d 9/29/1878), Julian H. HURT (d 10/4/1878), Willie HURT (d 9/11/1878), Bobbie L. HURT (d 10/1/1878) & Tommie B. HURT (d 10/2/1878). If anyone is familiar with this family, please let me know.

Their children were: Effie ADAMS married a HENDERSON and stayed in Indiana, Bud ADAMS, William Monroe ADAMS (1869-1939) married Anna Elsie WILSON (1871-1940), George Wright ADAMS (1875-1935) married Madie Mora HENRY in Benton Co. I have more information on William Monroe ADAMS and Anna Elsie WILSON who lived in Wayne Co. Also more on George Wright ADAMS.
