Fred A. James

Fred A. James of Murfreesboro, brother of Quixie Moses of Shelbyville died Tuesday at his home following an extended illness.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at North Boulevard Church of Christ with Marion West officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery. 

Mr. James, 77, was a Rutherford County native, son of the late Arthur and Lizzie Mae Wooten James. He was a retired truck driver for International Paper and was a member of the Middle Tennessee Trail Riders Association. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Science Hill Church of Christ.

Additional survivors are his wife, Sue Jones James; two sons, Steve and David James of Murfreesboro; a brother Carl James of Murfreesboro; three other sisters, Dot Insell of Woodbury, Yvonne Carter and Patsy Ann Brown of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren and on great-granddaughter.

Visitation with the family will begin at 4 p.m. today.

Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Grace Wrather King Pearson

Funeral services for Grace Wrather King Pearson, 89, who died Saturday at her home in Murfreesboro, were to be held 2:30 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial was to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

A native of Leanna, she was the wife of the late Chares Brandon King who died in 1974, and the of Lee Roy Pearson, who survives. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ada Pierce Wrather. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a retired seamstress.

Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters, PatriciaStewart of Shelbyville, Peggy Campbell of Dangerfield, Texas, and Deborah Baker of Lascassas; a son Jerry King of Gadsden Ala; a brother Leland Wrather of Nashville; two sisters, Lucille Ballinger of Lebanon and Daisy Murray of Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Effie Mae Wilkerson

Funeral services of Effie Mae Wilkerson, 66 of Sewanee, who died Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Shaw Temple Church of God in Tullahoma. Superintendent George Lewis will officiate with burial to follow in University Cemetery in Sewanee.

Survivors include four sons, Sammy Wilkerson of Sewanee, Kenneth Lee Wilkerson of Decherd, James Robert Wilkerson of Tullahoma, and Gary Jerome Wilkerson of Sewanee; four sisters, Margaret White of Tullahoma, Juanita Anthony of Tullahoma, Mildred Thompson of Shelbyville and Josephine Williams of Detroit, Mich: four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be noon Sunday until service time at the church. J. A. Welton & Son Funeral Home, Tullahoma, is in charge of arrangements.
