John Bearden applied for revolutionary pension while laving in Bedford County, Tennessee. His name appears on the 1832 list. He was born in Spottsylvania County, Virginia, in 1744. He served in a company of Rangers from Spartanburg, South Carolina and was in the battle of Ninety-six. He moved to Tennessee in 1842 and settled in Bedford County where he died.
