ARCHIE CLARENCE ADCOCK      

   Archie Clarence Adcock, b. September 5, 1885 d. July 16, 1968, married December 26, 1907, Sarah Guynnie Dickens, b. January 1884, d. April 21, 1961. She was the daughter of Jason B. and Virginia Foster Dickens. Arch and Guynnie lived in the Longview area for a short time. Their two oldest children, Herschell and Eula, were born in Longview. They moved from Longview to Rover and then to a house just off Hwy. 269 near the blue water tower where they lived out their lives. They had three children: Robert Herschell, Eula Virginia, and Mildred Lorene.

1. Robert Herschell Adcock, b. September 3, 1908, d. November 30, 1999, married February 14, 1932, Mary Beatrice Smith, b. April 4, 1912, d. April 19, 1998. She taught school at Longview and her sister, Willie Bell Smith was the cook. Robert Herschell and Mary Beatrice had one child, Ronald Herschell Adcock, b. November 19, 1941.
2. Eula Virginia Adcock, b. October 14, 1914 married January 1, 1933, John Franklin Smith, b. May 1, 1910, d. July 16, 2003. They had a child, Annie Ruth Smith Murphree, b. October 9, 1934.
3. Mildred Lorene Adcock, b. September 19, 1921, d. September 19, 2003, married 1st Tolbert Higgins in 1935. They divorced and she married 2nd B. P. Thrasher. There were four children: Charles Donald Higgins b. March 9, 1936, Judy Thrasher, Billy Thrasher (killed by a car in Texas), and Larry Thrasher. She was also married a third time.
