Resident of Claxton 30 years dies<\/strong>.\u00a0 Gordon O\u2019Neal Champion, 64, of Shipe Rd., Claxton, died at 9 p.m. Sunday at Sylvia\u2019s Package Store in South Clinton, which his wife operates, of a heart attack.<\/p>\n He was employed at Reeder Chevrolet Co. in Oak Ridge for 27 years before he retired four years ago.\u00a0 Champion was a member of Edgemoor Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.<\/p>\n He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Claxton resident since 1948.<\/p>\n Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Champion, and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home chapel in Oak Ridge with the Rev.
