C. C. Brown, ex-miner, deputy, dies<\/strong>.\u00a0 Charlie Columbus Brown, 80, of Briceville\u00a0Rd., Briceville, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday at Lake City Hospital of a heart attack.<\/p>\n A retired coal miner, he was employed by Cambria Coal Co. of Briceville.\u00a0 He later served as an Anderson County deputy under Sheriffs Glad Woodward and Kenneth E. Caldwell.<\/p>\n Brown was an Army veteran of World War I.\u00a0 He was a member of Tennessee Hollow Baptist Church and Crystal Lodge 616 F. and A.M.<\/p>\n He was a native of Briceville\u00a0and son of the late Joe Mack and Nancy Harness Brown.\u00a0 His wife, Eva Smiddy Brown, died in June 1976.<\/p>\n Survivors include two sons, Ray Brown of Lake City and Buford Brown of Augusta, Ga.; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Helen) McMahan, Mrs. Spencer (Violet) Williams and Mrs. Harvey (Irene) Jones of Briceville; two brothers, Frank Brown of Augusta and Grant Brown of Rockford; a sister, Mrs. Charlie (Edith) Roysden of Oliver Springs; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at Laurel Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Daugherty, the Rev. Edwin Phillips and the Rev.
