Marlow, 1990:<\/h2>\n<p>Birdie Mae Armstrong Marlow, 87, of Lake City, died June 14 at LaFollette Medical Center after a long illness.\u00a0 She made her home with her daughter, Sue Brown of Lake City, for the past four years.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Marlow, a native of Ducktown, was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.<\/p>\n<p>She was the daughter of the late William Alexander (Bud) and Arra\u00a0Crisson Armstrong.\u00a0 A homemaker, she enjoyed visiting friends and family, cooking and camping.<\/p>\n<p>Her husband, James Elliott Marlow, died in 1965.\u00a0 She was also preceded\u00a0in death by a daughter, Gladys Hawkins, two sons, J. D. and Carl Franklin Marlow, a brother, Esco Armstrong, and a sister, Bell Reed.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors also include three other daughters and sons-in-law, Opal and Roy Hawkins of Lake City; Mae and Fred Lisenbee\u00a0of Kingston, and Clois\u00a0and Jack Burnette of Spring City; four sons and wives, Arnold and Mary Alice Marlow, Tom and Betty Marlow, Charles and Marty Marlow, all of Clinton; Clyde and Mary Sue Marlow of Oliver Springs; two daughters-in-law, Martha and Patty Marlow, both of Lake City; a sister, Beulah Johnson of Lake City; 50 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services were held June 17 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. George Miller and the Rev. Virgil Tackett officiating.\u00a0 Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.\u00a0 Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.<\/p>\n<p><em>Clinton Courier News<\/em>, June 20, 1990.<\/p>\n<p>[Transcribed by Stephanie A.
