{"id":497,"date":"2011-08-30T04:06:54","date_gmt":"2011-08-29T23:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tngenweb.org\/anderson2\/?p=497"},"modified":"2017-06-09T16:32:49","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T21:32:49","slug":"obituary-of-roy-carson-foster-1972","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/andersoncounty\/2011\/08\/obituary-of-roy-carson-foster-1972\/","title":{"rendered":"Obituary &#8211; Foster, Roy Carson , 1972"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Clinton Courier-News<\/em>, November 30, 1972<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dairyman Foster dies of heart attack<\/strong>.\u00a0 Roy Carson Foster, 73, former owner and operator of Big Valley Dairy Farm in Clinton, died of a heart attack about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at University Hospital.\u00a0 He had a history of heart trouble.<\/p>\n<p>Foster was born and had resided in Anderson County all his life.\u00a0 His home was on Mountain Rd., Clinton Rt. 1, near the dairy farm he ran from 1940 to 1962.\u00a0 After he retired in 1962, the dairy was closed but was reopened in 1968 by his sons.<\/p>\n<p>Foster was a member of Hinds Creek Baptist Church on Mountain Rd.<\/p>\n<p>He leaves his wife, Mrs. Clara Cox Foster; two sons, Cebren and Sherwood Foster, both of Mountain Rd.; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret York, Mrs. Yvonne Lay and Mrs. Shirley Cox, all of Clinton; nine grandchildren; four brothers, S. Love Foster of Clinton, William W. Foster and Roscoe W. Foster, both of Heiskell and C. L. Foster of Knoxville; one sister, Mrs. Ellie Carden of Norris.<\/p>\n<p>Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Esco Hale and the Rev. Grover Webb officiating.\u00a0 Burial was in Taylor\u2019s Chapel Cemetery on Mountain Rd.<\/p>\n<p>[Transcribed by Stephanie A.
