Lake City woman, Mrs. Childs, dies<\/strong>.\u00a0 Mrs. Elizabeth Hardwick Childs, 83, of the Lake City Convalescent and Nursing Home, died at midnight Sunday in Lake City Hospital.\u00a0 She had been seriously ill for more than a year and had suffered three strokes in that time.<\/p>\n Mrs. Childs had resided in the nursing home for the past two years.\u00a0 A native of Burnside, Ky., she came to Lake City 25 years ago from Virginia with her son, Herbert Childs.<\/p>\n She was married to the late John T. Childs.\u00a0 Mrs. Childs was a member of the Baptist Church in St. Charles, Va.<\/p>\n She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Marie Armstrong and Mrs. Juanita Parks, both of Lake City; five sons, Herbert and James E. Childs, both of Detroit; George Childs of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Earnest Childs of Houston, Tex.\u00a0 and Clarence Childs of Lake City; 34 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cox Funeral Home chapel in Lake City with the Rev.
