Willie Ray \u201cBill\u201d Patterson, age 65, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2002 at his home.<\/p>\n
Mr. Patterson was born March 3, 1937 in Devonia.<\/p>\n
He lived in Devonia until 1976 when he moved to Oliver Springs. He was employed by several area coal mines before retirement. He was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church, however, he attended the Elverton Baptist Church.<\/p>\n
Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by: his parents, Byrd Patterson and Martha Cook Patterson; brother, Gene Patterson.<\/p>\n
Survivors: wife, Martha Duncan Patterson of Oliver Springs; sons, Chris Patterson of Oliver Springs; Joseph Patterson of Oliver Springs; brother, James Patterson of Oliver Springs; half brother, Archie Patterson of Coalfield; sisters, Margie Johnson of Oak Ridge; Dorothy Patterson of Oak Ridge.<\/p>\n
The family received friends from 6-9 pm Monday, April 22, 2002 at Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs. Funeral services were held at 1 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the Indian Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Phillips and the Rev. Roger Buck officiating. Burial followed at the Indian Creek Cemetery.<\/p>\n
Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.<\/p>\n
