{"id":4005,"date":"2012-07-22T14:26:36","date_gmt":"2012-07-22T09:26:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tngenweb.org\/anderson\/?p=4005"},"modified":"2018-02-23T13:10:48","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T19:10:48","slug":"obituary-edwards-lovenia-goins-1911","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/andersoncounty\/2012\/07\/obituary-edwards-lovenia-goins-1911\/","title":{"rendered":"Obituary &#8211; Edwards, Lovenia Goins, 1911"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Death of Mrs. Edwards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Burial in Sunset Cemetery Thursday Afternoon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Lovenia Goins Edwards, aged 77 years, died suddenly at her home in North Clinton, Tuesday evening shortly after five o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p>A few minutes before death she was active about the house in domestic duties.\u00a0 A neighbor called as was her custom for some milk and found the aged lady in seeming good health though complaining of feeling weak.\u00a0 A short time after death occurred.\u00a0 Deceased had carefully prepared the dining table for the evening meal when she was stricken.<\/p>\n<p>Deceased was the wife of the late Wm. Edwards and had been living in Clinton eighteen years.\u00a0 She was a devout member of the Baptist Church and took a deep interest in the welfare of the church.\u00a0 She leaves to mourn her loss a daughter Mrs. Emma Hurst of Chattanooga, a son Wm. Edwards of this city; and a large number of near relatives in Anderson County.<\/p>\n<p>The funeral services were held at the residence Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o\u2019clock conducted by Rev. E. N. Woodward, pastor of the M. E. Church, South.<\/p>\n<p>Following service at the house the remains were conveyed to Sunset cemetery for burial, and laid to rest in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Card of Thanks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who were so kind and sympathetic in the sudden death of our dear mother Mrs. Wm. H. Edwards; also for the beautiful floral tokens.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Hurst,<\/p>\n<p>Mr. and Mrs. W. H.
