Leona Mitchell Robbins, 71, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Robbins was a homemaker and a member of Frost Bottom Baptist Church.<\/p>\n
She was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Harlan, Ky., the daughter of Herman Pettibone and Marie Louise Rigney Mitchell, who are deceased. She had lived in this area since 1942.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Robbins is survived by her granddaughter, Ruth Robbins of Oliver Springs; her brother, Roscoe Mitchell and his wife, Sharon, of Clinton; her sister, Ruth Lawson and her husband, John, of Oliver Springs; her sisters-in-law, Bobbie Mitchell and Gertrude Mitchell, both of Oliver Springs; and by many nieces and nephews including nephews she considered special, Bill Mitchell, Danny Mitchell and Kimmie Lee Mitchell.<\/p>\n
Marjorie Anderson, Fran Gulley, Harry and Jerri Woodard were considered special friends.<\/p>\n
The funeral was held Saturday, June 3, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating.<\/p>\n
A graveside service was held Sunday, June 4, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Oliver Springs.<\/p>\n
