Obituary of Orville Schimmel, 2002:<\/h2>\n

Mr. Orville Schimmel, age 74, of Lake City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.<\/p>\n

He was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Union Lake County, Michigan.<\/p>\n

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City and he retired from Martin-Marietta.<\/p>\n

Survivors: Wife, Barbara Schimmel of Lake City; sons, Steve Schimmel of Oak Ridge, Tim Schimmel of Lake City; daughters, Nedra Luallen and Rob Willis of Lexington, Kentucky, and Lisa and Matt Brooks of Manchester; brothers, Norman Reno of Pontiac, MI, Dwayne Reno of Pontiac, MI; five grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and a host of friends.<\/p>\n

Visitation was 6-8 pm Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Cox-Martin Funeral Home in Lake City.<\/p>\n

Funeral service was 8 pm Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Courtney officiating.<\/p>\n

Interment was 11:30 am Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with military honors provided by the East Tennessee Honor Guard.<\/p>\n
