Allen Irving Sawyer, 87, of Norris, died Tuesday in his residence.<\/p>\n
Mr. Sawyer was a retired school teacher with Seventh Day Adventist School system in Cookeville and was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by wife, Edith Harness Sawyer; and parents, Charles and Margaret Wood Sawyer.<\/p>\n
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Leanne\u00a0and Howard Arnold of Norris, Tonya Phillips of Norris, and Bunny and Roger Herman of Beadford, NH; son and daughter-in-law, John and Edith Sawyer of Knoxville; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Graveside service will be 10:30 am Thursday in Oak Grove Cemetery.<\/p>\n
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.<\/p>\n
