Retired school bus driver\u2019s rites are held<\/strong>.\u00a0 An Anderson County bus driver for 38 years, William H. (Bill) Key, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday at Oak Ridge Hospital after becoming ill that morning.<\/p>\n Key, who was 81, lived on the U. S. 61 By-pass at Oliver Springs Rt. 3.\u00a0 He was born at Key Springs Park in the Batley community, where his father, John W. Key, owned extensive farm land.<\/p>\n He began working for the county driving a horse-drawn school wagon to carry children to the Robertsville School.\u00a0 Later he built the body for his first school bus and drove buses until about 1963 when he retired.\u00a0 The Anderson County School Board then employed him as a custodian at the Norwood School and he worked there until 1965.<\/p>\n He was a longtime member of the Batley Baptist Church.<\/p>\n Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Batley Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Allen and the Rev. O. S. Dugger officiating.\u00a0 Burial was in Key Cemetery.<\/p>\n He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lassie Patterson Key; a son, Billy J.
