Clyde E. Alcorn, 71, of Oliver Springs died Friday, Feb. 9,1996, in Harriman City Hospital following a long illness.<\/p>\n
Alcorn was a lifelong resident of Oliver Springs and a member of the Big Emory Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a security guard and was retired from Union Carbide after 24 years of service.<\/p>\n
Alcorn\u00a0was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Frank Alcorn\u00a0and Katherine Rickett\u00a0Alcorn; two brothers, Troy and Earl Alcorn; and a sister, Dorothy Alcorn.<\/p>\n
Survivors are his wife, Bobbie Jean Alcorn\u00a0of Oliver Springs; seven sons, C.D. “Chuck” Alcorn\u00a0and wife Marsha Alcorn\u00a0of Oliver Springs, Larry Alcorn\u00a0and wife Judy Alcorn, of Oliver Springs, Eddy Alcorn\u00a0and wife Gretchen Alcorn, of Knoxville, Bryon\u00a0Alcorn\u00a0and wife Lesli\u00a0Alcorn, of Knoxville, Burl Alcorn\u00a0and wife Darlene Alcorn, of Oliver Springs, and Michael Alcorn, also of Oliver Springs; two daughters, Sherryl\u00a0Poole and husband Johnny Poole of Cleveland, Tenn., and Catherine D. Alcorn\u00a0of Oliver Springs; four brothers, W.L. “Bill” Alcorn\u00a0and wife Nina Alcorn\u00a0of Oliver Springs, Ray Alcorn\u00a0and wife Bess Alcorn\u00a0of Oliver Springs, Claude Alcorn and wife\u00a0Libby Alcorn, of Florida and Paul Alcorn of Oliver Springs; 13 grandchildren.<\/p>\n
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 12, in Sharp Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Harmon and Rev. Kenneth Stubbs officiating. Family received friends Monday. Graveside services were Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Oliver Springs Cemetery.<\/p>\n
