Mr. Abston was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Abston; a sister, Ida Moore, and a brother, Johnny Abston.<\/p>\n<p>He attended Elverton Baptist Church on Harriman Rt 2.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Abston had lived in Oliver Springs for the past 17 years. He moved to Oliver Springs from Harriman, where he had resided for 43 years.<\/p>\n<p>An Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife, Helen Lane Abston\u00a0of Oliver Springs; children and their spouses, Mr and Mrs Billy (Sheila) Hicks of Harriman; Mrs and Mrs Mickey (Mary) Tuck of Oliver Springs; Mr and Mrs Anthony (Jackie) Shelly of Oliver Springs; Mr and Mrs Danny (Carol) Shultz of Harriman; son, Charles (Dusty) Abston, Jr., of Oliver Springs; two brothers, Chester Abston\u00a0of Kingston and Jack Abston of Harriman; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Services were held Saturday night at Sharp Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.
