Crushed Under Team.\u00a0 Robert Keisling Meets Death at Peaks Monday Morning<\/strong>.\u00a0 A fatal accident occurred near Peaks Monday morning at 10:30 o\u2019clock resulting in the deah\u00a0of Robert M. Keisling, aged 28 years, 5 months and 18 days.<\/p>\n Keisling and Homer Lucas were hauling acid wood from Chestnut Ridge for A. E. Jennings at Peaks.\u00a0 While coming down the ridge with the second load driving a four mule team, Robert lost his balance and pitched forward on the lead mule.\u00a0 As he fell he called \u201cWhoa\u201d to the team.\u00a0 The front mules stopped, but the rear pair became scared and caused the front pair to run away.\u00a0 Lucas, who was at the brake, jumped off, and looking back saw Robert lying on the ground.\u00a0 He called to him and received no reply. \u00a0He reported the matter to Mr. Jennings and an investigation showed Keisling\u00a0was dead.\u00a0 Drs. Hall and Woods of Clinton examined the body and said the neck was broken.<\/p>\n The body was taken to the Jennings home and prepared for burial.\u00a0 The funeral services were conducted at Zion church Tuesday.<\/p>\n Deceased leaves a wife, mother, brother and sister and a host of friends to mourn his death.\u00a0 He was a noble young man and took great interest in Sunday school and church and was loved by all who knew him.<\/p>\n \u201cWe shall stand with the blest in the land of sweet rest, And every loved friend be restored to our breast; And we\u2019ll part never more on that fair happy shore, Where the troubles of life will forever be o\u2019er.\u201d\u00a0 A Friend.<\/p>\n Anderson County News<\/em>, March 20, 1915<\/p>\n [Transcribed by Stephanie A.
