Goodykoontz, 1967:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Goodykoontz rites Sunday; was a painter<\/strong>.\u00a0 A heart attack last Friday claimed the life of a retired South Clinton painter, who had resided in this area for about 35 years and was widely known.<\/p>\n<p>Stricken as he sat on the front porch of the home of Mrs. James Billyeu, his daughter on Old Knoxville Highway about 7:30 p.m. was William L. Goodykoontz, 83, who was pronounced dead on arrival at Oak Ridge Hospital.\u00a0 Doctors said he apparently died instantly.<\/p>\n<p>Boron in Lake City, Mr. Goodykoontz with the others of his family moved to Texas for several years before he came back and settled in South Clinton.\u00a0 He was a painter by trade and worked independently throughout the Clinton area.<\/p>\n<p>He was a member and a trustee of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in South Clinton and in his earlier years was a member of the Clinton I. O. O. F.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Billyeu, are three other daughters, Mrs. Fred Hutchinson of Atlanta, Mrs. Clyde Kosier and Mrs. John Brantley, both of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Albert, John and Joe Goodykoontz, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Farmer, all of Harlingen, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Martin\u2019s chapel with the Rev. Ernest Goins and the Rev.
