Former Secretary to the Superintendent of Oak Ridge City Schools, Lucy Woods Whitaker died July 17 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was 65.
She was the daughter of the late William Oscar Lisenby and had worked with the Oak Ridge School System for 24 years.
Whitaker lived at 125 South Purdue Street.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce T. Whitaker of Oak Ridge; two sons, William Scott Whitaker of Oak Ridge and Bruce W. Whitaker of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, John W. Lisenby of Ozark, Ala. and William O. Lisenby of Jackson, Miss.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are tonight, July 18 at 8:30 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Oak Ridge with the Rev. Steve McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Interment is July 19 at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
