Obituary of Tina Ledford Kirkland, Anderson County News, November 14, 1925:
Funeral of Mrs. Kirkland. Mrs. Tina Ledford Kirkland, wife of the late C. J. Kirkland, died last Sunday morning at 2:15 a.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Giles, in north Clinton. She had been in bad health for the past two years and was confined to her bed for the last two months.
She was born in the state of Georgia and reared in North Carolina and moved to Clinton fifteen years ago. She was seventy-five years old, and was married at the age of eighteen. Eleven children were born to this union, six are now dead and five living. They are Mrs. Joseph Giles and Mrs. Fletcher Webber, of Clinton; Mrs. Dock Harness and Mrs. George Pardue, of Knoxville; Mrs. Jim Wrykel of Greenville. She also leaves three brothers and one sister to mourn her loss. She professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist Church in Curch, North Carolina and lived a devoted Christian.
